So.
[I really love beginning my posts with ‘So’ – “they” say it’s against rules of style/grammar but it also draws you people in – JK]
So. I was listening to the “radio” (Spotify?) a day or two ago, and they played a tune that I’ve heard before (several/many times), but didn’t know where it came from, usually it’s a female vocal tune, and it’s a jazzy tune, sassy, (and maybe a bit ‘sexy’).
Since it was ‘playing’ in my head, over and over (and over and over), I had to go to iTunes and looked it up, and downloaded a couple of versions, the first being the original sung by Dinah Shore. I also downloaded a more recent version, by Patricia Bonner. The tune is titled “Whatever Lola wants…Lola gets…”. Give it a listen and tell me if you like it and/or what you think. This may be just for those that like female vocal singers from the 40’s/50’s (i.e., “Torch Singers”). According to Wikipedia, it’s been ‘covered’ about forty times by various artists.
Oh, by the way, Patricia Bonner is now a new fav of mine. You just might want to give her a try. The original (sung by Dinah) is from the movie called “Those Damn Yankees” [1959]. Someday, I’m going to have to figure out how to “post” songs that I’m listening to…
