There is a reason why I don’t edit my photos that I take. It takes a LOT of time and mental effort – there are just TOO MANY choices of things to do – like adding special effects, lighting, exposure, contrast, etc. If anything, I may – like I recently did for my recent b-day pics – just crop them. THAT I can easily do – no problem – no OCD choice issues there.
However, I just heard about a software plug-in for “Photoshop Elements”, called “Silver Efex Pro” (from Google/”Nik Software”). I decided to download a demo of it, and tried it only on one photo – and, I’m now hooked – crap! On the other hand, this is a good example of what I’m talking about – this plug-in, offered me no less than 38 different B&W choices. Yes, there were lots of obvious choices I didn’t like, but there were still a handful of choices I thought were great – So, how the crap do you decide which effect/choice you like the most?
So now, instead of posting just one color pic, I’ll be posting the color version, and also several B&W versions too. {no, just kidding – sort of]. And, this is just concerning the “automatic” choices – of course they give you the option of changing the various settings “manually”.
Ok, I’m going to remove this tool/plug in – i know it’s going to drive me crazy if I start using it.
But, I have to say, I really love this beautiful B&W photo of Lailah.
