Hmm, an update to my Stieg Larsson (“The girl with the dragon tattoo”) book reading. If you remember, I had already read the first two books around 4-5 yrs ago. Got a bit burned out after reading them back to back, and never went back to the final book of the trilogy.
This was where I was about a month or so ago with my original post on this topic. Since then, I’ve now re-read book 2 (“The girl who played with fire”), in order to refresh my memory of what transpired in that book and also have now read (for the first time), book 3 (“The girl who kicked the hornets nest”). All of this in prep to read the latest book (#4 – The girl in the spiders web”).
The problem now (as expected) is the same as it was 4-5 yrs ago: After reading more than a thousand pages of the same character, I need a break from Lisbeth Salander…and, depending on how long I put this series aside, I just might have to re-read book 3, just to enjoy reading book 4.
Woe is me. The life of a semi-serial book reader.
In the meantime, I’m now in the middle of a book called “Split second”, and while I was really enthusiastic at the beginning of this book, I’m now half way thru it and it’s not as “great” as I thought it would be, but I’m going to stick it out [Fernando Noguchi]. By the way, it truly doesn’t help to read any of the book reviews WHILE you are in the middle of reading the book – dong so, only causes a negative bias to come into play. Never going to do that again…
I always have the new Felix Francis (aka Dick Francis) book which just came out recently, to fall back on.
