If there can only be one status that you read of mine, this is the one to read. Please take two minutes to read this posting.
I usually don’t pick a movie at random to watch on the tube. I usually know what the subject is before I watch a movie.
I was on NetFlix tonight, and under “New releases”, I saw a title called “A girl like her”.
I didn’t know what it was going to be about.
I usually do not look under “New releases”.
Something wanted me to watch this movie.
A part of me just wants to tell you to go watch it.
The other part wants to tell you the subject.
It’s about BULLYING.
It’s only ninety minutes long.
Please find the time to watch this movie.
It has a very powerful message.
I personally think every high school should make it mandatory that each and every student watch this movie at the beginning of each semester of each of their four years in school.
Please try to watch this movie if you have teenage children, or if you have teenage grandchildren. Watch it even if you don’t.
Bullying has become much more pervasive during the last 5-10-15 years, first with the Internet, online topic forums, then online gaming chat rooms, and now, with all kinds of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and even with texting.
We have to, just have to, break this cycle of endless bullying.
Thank you for listening – please help by making sure your children aren’t bullies, or becoming bullies (via Facebook, texting, etc.). Please help your own children (and grandchildren) by asking them if they are being bullied by anyone at school.
