Women, bullies and internet trolling

There’s “trending news” today about some so-called “internet journalist” (i.e., IDIOT) who is now permanently banned from Twitter for inciting his followers to troll a movie actress.

Here’s one woman’s (abbreviated) response why she agreed with Twitter’s action:

“Women…are often at the receiving end of some of the most heinous of misogynistic trolling – and while we dismiss trolls as, well, trolls, their ability to inflict emotional harm is extremely real (and physical in some instances) and has real impact on the object of harassment.

Don’t tell women to have thick skin – tell men to stop inflicting or threatening violence.”

Here is the beginning of her actual post on 7/19/2016:

“This is fantastic news. This guy is really fascist scum (like, actually) — and my heart goes out to Leslie Jones who received an unimaginable amount of racist and sexist abuse for having the ‘gall’ to not look like the acceptable black woman and be a female black comedian in Ghostbusters.”
