Gotta be quick, we’re about to pull into the (Beautiful Downtown) AV transit station. Had a great day today work-wise. Yesterday wasn’t so bad either. In fact, had a great week last week as well. Most of the time work is just ordinary, but there are some days when it’s really fun and not the usual boring, or not challenging enough routine. Hope everyone out there had a good day too. BigB. 😉🤓 … [Read more...]

Tweeting Racist/Homophobic msgs as a teenager
I don’t know, can any intolerant 17-18 yr old homophobic and/or racist teenager change into a tolerant, non-discriminatory person in just 5-7 yrs as a young adult? I’m not so sure. Have they changed their tune because they actually saw the light, or just because they were “caught”? The article mentions not just one, but a handful of young MLB players who’ve been outed by their … [Read more...]
IOS 12 upgrade on the iPad
Upgraded the iPad to IOS 12.0 BETA yesterday (?) - “everything” is crashing (safari mostly, but sometimes FB, Photos, and a couple of other apps, like my banking app, etc.) Huh - now did I follow their strongly suggested recommendation of backing up the iPad first before upgrading? Who me? Now why would I want to do that? Apple never sends out buggy upgrades (in my usual experience). [updated: … [Read more...]
Birthday musings
This morning as I awoke from a deep slumber at 5:37 am, as the sun shown thru my window, I made a very important decision. I felt I wasn’t getting anything out of FaceBook any longer - it’s been about ten years (more, or less), since I first joined, I’ve not been getting any likes, or thumbs, or even fingers to any of my posts the last several months. My self-confidence and approval rating have … [Read more...]
FaceTime call from The Little Girl
I had a FaceTime call a few minutes ago. It was the little girl, her baby sister, her mom (Katie McCormick), and her cousin, Kenna, calling to wish me a happy birthday. It was so nice to see and hear from all of them. Warmed my (crazy, sentimental) little heart. They truly make me feel special. I love all of them to the moon and back. Thanks, Katie for dialing my number for Lailah. … [Read more...]
Loring Park Art Festival – part 2
As posted earlier today, we went to the Loring Park Art Festival yesterday. These are the two photographs I picked up. The photograph of Lake Calhoun looking toward the MPLS downtown skyline is truly awesome, and was the first one that caught my eye by this particular photographer. Its 10x14, with a 3” mat surrounding it, meaning I’m going to have to get a 16x20 frame for it. I know exactly where … [Read more...]
Loring Park Art Festival – part 1
Forgot to “check in” yesterday. Had a really nice day, looking at all the creative art that people produce. I came across a photographer who is local to the twin cities so he had a lot of downtown MPLS photos, and I had chosen one photograph print to buy (either 11x17 or maybe 16x20), unframed since the framed version was three times the cost of the unframed. As I was paying for it, another … [Read more...]
Ideas for Tattoos
Just might have to do this with the little girl. Not sure about her drawing abilities at age six, maybe I should wait until age eight or so? https://www.facebook.com/WatchCut/videos/824066267756262/ … [Read more...]

“A Simple Favor”
I’m 2/3s into this new murder mystery book (supposedly like “gone girl”, or “girl on the train”). I’ve seen Gone Girl, and read the book, and enjoyed both. Got home tonight after reading this new murder mystery on the bus, and decided I needed to watch “girl on the train”. O.m.g., I’m half way into it, and it is excruciating slow. Emily Blount’s character looks so out of it. The new murder … [Read more...]
Robots
Frigging amazing. I remember how auto workers (in the 80s?) were (rightly so) afraid that these robots would be taking their jobs. It turned out that people were needed to program them (what you just saw was pretty good programming at work), AND people who could fix them when they broke. The only issue I had with this one’s programming was that “he” didn’t scoop up the bottle cap from the floor … [Read more...]
Books/movies – watch movie, read book or via versa?
True story time. I “found” a new sample book on my kindle the other day. Obviously I downloaded it myself, but don’t remember when nor why, since I didn’t recognize the title. Started to read the sample, got to the end of it and felt the book was worth spending ten bucks on it, and bought the full version about a week ago. Went back to the kindle store and learned a new movie is coming out … [Read more...]
President Trump and recent tweets
Post one of three. Second post will be a screenshot of President Trump’s Tweet that Dan Rather addresses below. Third post is a screenshot of older tweets from President Trump, before he became president, with regard to Iran. https://www.facebook.com/theDanRather/posts/10160671493185716 Post two of three. Finding lost treasure
Many, many moons ago, I was once married: Gail and I were together for 11 years, but we separated/divorced in 2000. Fast forward to 2006, and I sold the house Rose and I had lived in when we were together (the first time), and moved into a smaller townhouse, in “Beautiful Downtown Apple Valley”. During that move, I lost the ring that Gail had given me as a wedding present (AKA, my wedding ring). … [Read more...]
Spending time with The Little Girl
Spent the afternoon and evening with the little girl and her baby sister yesterday (along with GranMaRose). Drove up to Orchestra Hall (big mistake, due to 35w construction Downtown) to hear some international music. We listened to two different groups outside, near the WCCO studio park/garden. One group played African drums, the other group sang with guitars, etc. After a couple of hours, we all … [Read more...]
IQ tests and my recent dishwasher experience
Came across a IQ test here on FB this morning. Didn’t have anything to do (other than the normal Saturday morning errands, the garage, the chores, etc.). Anything to get out of those jobs, so I took it. You had to discern twenty pattern recognition examples in twenty mins. I think I did alright, finishing with plenty of time to spare (5-6 mins left on the clock?), and only had one or two that I … [Read more...]
Relaxing music video – drums
This is just so relaxing. Used to listen to a jazz drummer by the name of Billy Cobham all the time when I was a teen ager/young adult. Played his “Funky Thide of Sings” album over and over. https://www.facebook.com/DrumTalkTV/videos/1890765131002142/ … [Read more...]
