Spending time with The Little Girl

Spent the afternoon and evening with the little girl and her baby sister yesterday (along with GranMaRose). Drove up to Orchestra Hall (big mistake, due to 35w construction Downtown) to hear some international music. We listened to two different groups outside, near the WCCO studio park/garden. One group played African drums, the other group sang with guitars, etc. After a couple of hours, we all decided to go home to GranMa’s place, where we played together and watched a cartoon movie. I’m glad it was only 80 degrees yesterday – wasn’t too hot for the girls, and there was a slight breeze at times while we were downtown.

Little Ruby is getting to know me a bit better, held her in my arms for quite a bit, carrying her around outside of Orchestra Hall, and holding her at GMR’s place. Tried to get her to dance a little bit, but she wasn’t in the mood. She cries a bit, but not as much as everyone says. Doesn’t say much, but wants to crawl almost everywhere on the sheet covered carpeting.

I cannot remember that much of Lailah being Ruby’s age. I remember that time by looking at all the pics I took back then. I guess if I remember anything, it’s me, in the middle of the many nights she was slept over, walking back and forth, with her on my chest, feeding her, then trying to get her back to sleep, after waking up. I’m just amazed by how much she’s grown up these past 5-6 years.

Still love her to the moon and back. I’m glad she still yells out “GranPa!!” when she sees me.
