As posted earlier today, we went to the Loring Park Art Festival yesterday. These are the two photographs I picked up. The photograph of Lake Calhoun looking toward the MPLS downtown skyline is truly awesome, and was the first one that caught my eye by this particular photographer. Its 10×14, with a 3” mat surrounding it, meaning I’m going to have to get a 16×20 frame for it. I know exactly where I’m going to put it. As I was paying for the first photograph, I then noticed this second smaller photograph. The photo itself is 8×8, and was already framed. I think I have a special place for this one as well.
Thirty yrs ago (more like forty yrs ago), I bought my first “artistic” photograph (the snow scene below), at the Ann Arbor Art Fair. I still have it, hanging on one of my walls. I always used to dream of shooting great pictures such as these…
But, I’ll tell you, the photos I’ve taken over the years, of flowers, people on the street, architecture, horses, etc., don’t hold a candle to my photos of the little girl. Those very special ones of Lailah, are the ones that make me smile, that make me snort out a laugh, that causes my heart to skip a beat, each time I look at them. Nothing can ever beat those pics of her.
