In the middle of S2 of Ozark – it just keeps getting better and better. Love Jason Bateman and how cool (calm) his character is. Love “Wendy” stepping up and getting more involved. Love “Ruth” and her attitude. Still love “Buddy” and his old guy sense of humor, and wisdom.
Glad to see they’ve brought back (slowly) a few characters from last season – ones you thought we wouldn’t be seeing again. A few new characters this season, some of them being quite interesting.
The body count keeps increasing – but, it’s so subtle (i.e., not the typical gory killings of GameOfThrones or similar show where murders are involved), such that most of the time you don’t realize that they’ve killed off at least 13 people (both speaking parts and some non-speaking parts – i.e., like henchmen) over the first season and a half, averaging ~one death per episode. 🔌⛏🔪🔫⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️💸💰
In some respects, I am finding this a bit reminiscent of Breaking Bad, with Walter White being so clean/innocent/naive in the first season, and by the fifth season, he’s this totally dark, very evil, power hungry person.
“Marty” is slowly turning into Walter White – but on a much quicker basis – maybe a bit sooner than any of us would like (because, he’s still, deep down, just a nice guy, just trying to do his job, and trying as best as he to keep his family safe).
