Laugh of the day – Lailah’s and the pumpkin

True story. Laugh of the day.

To set this up, you have to be made aware that my short driveway is on a very slight incline.

I go pick up Lailah from her parents house earlier this afternoon, we then went to the local grocery store, and bought two medium to large size pumpkins, and also some of the pumpkin decorating tools, and gizmos, a Halloween cookie baking mix, etc.

I pull into the driveway, she’s in her booster seat in the back, and I get out, open my side of the back seat to get the pumpkins, and the grocery bag – she’s getting out of her seat, and has already opened her door, and is rounding the front of the truck.

I can’t carry all three items, so I put one of the pumpkins on the driveway, in order to get the grocery bag off the seat to hand to her to carry. She takes the bag from me, turns around to walk up the front walk, and I reach down to pick up the first pumpkin that I set on the driveway, and it’s not there, it’s rolling down the driveway.

I run after it, as well as I can, with the second pumpkin in my arms, but wasn’t able to stop it until it stopped itself by rolling into the “gutter” part of the street at the end of the driveway.

Fortunately, it had stopped there.

The cell phone was in my pocket, and I guess if I didn’t have the other pumpkin in my arms, I might have taken a pic of it. You’ll just have to visualize it rolling down the driveway. It really wasn’t a long roll, maybe twenty five feet or so, but just enough to make a person laugh. Of course, Lailah missed all of it, and only saw me picking it up from the gutter.

Poor, little, pumpkin…
