Listening to some good music while working on the hobby

Been working at the project table for last couple of hours, listening to Pandora, on my “Scott Bradlee and Post Modern Jukebox” station. As you already probably know (but in case you didn’t), a Pandora station like this isn’t “all” music by that particular artist – a “station” just plays music of a similar genre, etc. So far, they not yet played a tune I didn’t like – just love this kind of music – toe tapping music all the way. Big band (Glenn Miller, etc.), Andrews Sisters, Big Voodoo Daddy, Brian Seltzer, Jazz, Swing, Bobby Darin, Frank S., Louis A., etc.

And, it’s amazing, when I have good music playing, I keep working on what I’m working on (building my “model railroad” models/structures), and I don’t loose interest, it just keeps me “in the groove”.

My project table is in front of a pretty nice size window, and it’s a really sunny day out there today – all of 24 degrees (how come a IOS keyboard doesn’t have a “degrees” key/symbol??).

Ok, I’m going out to the street to get my mail, then grab me some lunch, and then back to today’s modeling effort. I got myself some goals to finish as many “in progress” structures (six of them) as I can before the end of the year, and to also start/complete another six at the same time. This means one “in progress” structures (most of these are already at least three quarters done), and one new building each week for the next six weeks. I think I can do it. If I can stay away from the TV watching, after coming home from work in the evening. TV watching is the “root of all things evil” when it comes to modeling. I really get a great sense of accomplishment each time I complete one of these structures, and, in my opinion, I can see my progression from a beginning modeler to intermediate, etc. I’m nowhere near ready to call the current modeling building skills I have, as “advanced” since I still don’t have the patience (and/or skill, imagination, etc.) to build two foot by two foot dioramas, with everything that’s involved in their creation. I guess I need to make that a concrete goal, with a specific date (like, by end of 2019, create “one” diorama). Well, there, that’s done. I guess I’m now going to have to work toward that goal in the next twelve months.

Ok, that’s enough of typing, dreaming, etc., and back to the real world (of modeling!)
