Ever have a favorite toy that you grew up with, that you absolutely loved playing with, but due to being “old”, you have forgotten what it was called?
Well, I had a few favs when I was a kid, and for the life of me, I couldn’t remember the name of them – and if a person can’t remember the name, it’s pretty hard to look for them on eBay…
One of my favs was a set of three robots – which is why I’m writing tonight, since the following FB page just posted an old advert of them, thru allowing me to find them on eBay – now going for $100 to $1400 (obviously must be a “new in box”). Man, I wish my mom would have been more of a hoarder – I wonder where they ended up – did we just discard them as we grew older, or maybe gave them to the church/charity or what?
Here’s the “zeroids” robot toy advert below.

One other toy I remembered playing with as a kid was a kind of a small slot car thing where there were two cars, one was a cop car, the other was a “robber” (getaway) car, and the slot car “track” had buildings surrounding it, and one car would chase the other. Again, couldn’t figure out the name of it, until I had a brilliant (for me) idea to look at old Sears Wish books from the late 60’s/early 70’s, and, there it was, something called “cops and robbers getaway chase game”.
[Video for cops and robbers getaway game.]. I hope that link works…if not, search you-tube in “1960s Getaway Chase Game Cops and Robbers Slot Cars Game AMF”.
Simple things, for simple minds, I guess.
